A cookie is a small text file that a site asks your browser to keep and hand back on the next request. It holds an identifier and, sometimes, a preference. It is not a program, it cannot read the rest of your device, and it cannot see other sites you visit unless those sites deliberately share an identifier with it.
Alongside cookies proper, sites use local storage, session storage and small tracking pixels inside pages and emails. They do different jobs in different ways, but for the purposes of this page they are all covered by the word "cookie".

Optional categories stay off until you turn them on, and can be turned back off at any point without losing access to anything on the site.
This category carries the session identifier that keeps you signed in as you move from the lobby to the cashier, the token that proves a form submission came from the page it claims to, and the load-balancing marker that keeps you talking to the same server mid-transaction.
Refusing these is technically possible in your browser, but the practical result is that you cannot stay signed in, cannot deposit, and cannot play. There is no version of the site that works without them, which is why they do not appear as a choice.
These remember the decisions you have already made, so you do not make them again on every visit: your display language out of English, German and French, which currency figures are shown in, and whether you dismissed a notice.
Turning them off does not break anything. It simply means the site forgets those choices between sessions and falls back to defaults.
Analytics cookies tell us how many people reached the cashier, how many stalled on the way, and which pages load slowly on which devices. They are read in aggregate. We are looking for the step where a hundred people gave up, not for what any one person did.
Identifiers in this category are pseudonymous, and analytics data is not joined back to your verification documents or your gameplay history.
If you arrived here from another site, a marketing cookie records that so the referrer can be credited. The same category stops the same promotional message following you around, and measures whether a campaign worked at all.
Declining this category has no effect on your account, your bonuses or the offers available to you. It only affects whether third parties can attribute your visit.

Where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal of the optional categories and do not ask again on that device.
Cookie use changes as tools change. The date stamped at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised, and material changes are announced in the account rather than slipped in quietly. What we collect through cookies, and your rights over it, are covered in the privacy policy.
